“It’s a great day for our student-athletes,” said Ed Banach, athletic director, girls’ tennis and boys’ soccer coach. Another 13 sign today in multiple sports which just goes to show dedication and commitment on their part, what they balance here and what their future holds.”
Miko, Cheshire Academy’s top girls’ singles player, has led the Cats to a 5-0 start on the tennis court this spring.
“Coach Ed Banach and coach Chip Boyd have helped me so much through this process,” she said. Just tremendous support contacting coaches and improving my game. The past three years here has been really great in terms of growing athletically and academically.”
Giano has been a five-year player for the Cats. He’s spent time at linebacker and on the offensive line. He will join a program at New England that recently completed its first season.
“It was a bittersweet moment for me,” Giano said. “I’ve spent a lot of my time here: five years. It feels surreal going into the next chapter of my life, but I’ve made so many memories and relationships here. Cheshire Academy is definitely something that will always stay with me.”
