The Roxbury Academic Support Program offers fee-based services that enable students to improve performance. These include the following:            
 
  • Review students’ files and identify strategies appropriate to their learning profile
  • Encourage meta-cognition and reflection through self-evaluations
  • Serve as liaisons among students, teachers, administrators, and parents
  • Offer some content-specific support or oversee extra help attendance
  • Monitor performance in and out of the classroom, ensuring that strategies are implemented
  • Issue regular progress reports to parents and advisors
  • Coordinate alternative test settings
  • Provide distraction-free work environments
  • Introduce students to online tools and a variety of tech applications

  • Overview and Outcomes

    The goal of Roxbury Academic Support Program is to develop proactive, independent, and competent learners who take responsibility for their education and academic success. Our unique program is designed to strengthen the ability of our students to discover and utilize tools and strategies which allow them to become more competent and productive learners.

    Roxbury teachers specialize in helping students develop strategies for time management, organization, listening, note-taking, reading comprehension, and test taking. The Roxbury Program helps students invest in the quality of their work and approach academic deadlines in a pro-active, timely manner.
  • Roxbury Instructors

    Roxbury instructors serve as academic coaches, partnering with students to establish attainable short and long-term goals. They are trained professionals who act as liaisons between students and their teachers. In this role, the instructors coordinate with faculty when appropriate to enhance each student’s performance. The instructors in the Roxbury Program work closely with parents, faculty, dorm parents, counselors, administrators, and the health team.
  • Technology

    Various levels of technology are used to assist students with learning, ranging from paper planners and traditional textbooks to advanced electronic formats. Roxbury Instructors will help you find the right tools for you.
