The Cats roared back in the second half of a tight game and came away with an impressive 45-37 victory over The Gunnery.
The Gunnery Mountaineers came to play on the big court at Cheshire Academy, but Thirds Nation would have none of that and broke the game wide open in the second half behind the shooting of Jack Welage (9 pts.) and John Brucato (10pts.). The Cats trailed early and had trouble finding the basket in the first quarter but managed to take the lead at the buzzer on a Ryan Purdy three from the corner, making the score 21-20. The second half proved to be all Thirds Nation, as the team scored a total of seven three-pointers and out-hustled the opposition on both ends of the floor. It was another impressive team effort and especially nice to beat the Mountaineers who stunned CA last season on their court. Thirds Nation will be back in action away against Forman school on Saturday afternoon at 2:30PM.
