Fencing is the sport of high speed, physical chess. The Cheshire Academy team has a history of success and we will continue to strive for victories on the strip, but our goals reach beyond the piste. The student-athletes on the fencing team will build community and emphasize sportsmanship – this is a distinguished sport with a long tradition of honor. As a sport that fuses individual and team efforts, the Cheshire Academy fencing team will build a strong family within itself. Another goal is to bolster the skill of any Cheshire Academy fencer who wants to continue their fencing career in college to the point where the top academic schools in the nation compete to secure their talents.
The CA fencing team will compete in the Connecticut High School Fencing Association. This year, we will fence against the following schools and clubs: Cheshire High School, Rectory, Hand High School, Morgan High School, Farmington Valley Fencing Academy, Prospect Fencing Club, Old Lyme, and Waterford.
